AS in Health IT	DeVry University — DeVry University's AS in health information technology, which is not the same thing as an ultrasound technologist program, but is similar, prepares students to join the fastest growing occupations in the health care industry. The curriculum follows competencies outlined by the American Health Information Management Association and students learn coding, chart management, and lab software. Students can choose to take classes only online, or through a mix of onsite and online courses.
AS in Medical Office Admin BS in Health Services Mgmt	Virginia College — Virginia College's AS in medical office administration is a degree designed to prepare students to excel as employees in hospitals and physician's offices. Medical office administrators and health services managers must learn to effectively communicate with patients, bill insurance companies, and work closely with doctors in a variety of health care settings. Please note: this is not an ultrasound technologist degree.
AS in Medical Assisting	Herzing University — Herzing University's AS in medical assisting is not an ultrasound technician degree, but teaches students the basic skills they need to become helpful additions to physician's offices and hospitals. Students learn to prepare exam rooms, take patient information, communicate effectively with both patients and insurance agencies, and pass the general education requirements and core health science classes necessary for transferring to Bachelor's programs at 4-year universities.
AS in Medical Assisting	Keiser University — Keiser University's AS in Medical Assisting program prepares students to perform medical duties under the direction of physicians and practitioners, including preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, assisting in minor surgeries, giving injections, and functioning in administrative capacities. Students learn how to maintain patient records, bill, schedule appointments, and process insurance claims also. Note - This is not an ultrasound tech degree.
AS in Health IT	Hodges University — Hodges University offers an AS in health information technology that uniquely prepares students to rise to the top of the applicant pool for information management jobs. Ultrasound techs can have a variety of degrees and healthcare backgrounds, the AS in health information technology program is NOT a ultrasound technologist degree. Students learn the latest programs and technology to keep detailed patient medical records, and also learn to collect, manage, and preserve that information efficiently.
AAS in Medical Billing	Lincoln College — Lincoln College's AAS in medical billing degree, though not specifically an ultrasound program, teaches students fundamental and specialized skills in medical administrative work, including billing and insurance coding, patient information organization, and the use of information technology as it applies to healthcare. Graduates are prepared to become clinical medical assistants, laboratory assistants, or medical secretaries.
AAS in Health IT AAS in Healthcare Admin	Carrington College California — Carrington College California's AAS in Health Information Technology and AAS in Health Administration is ideal for students who have an active interest in healthcare but do not want to deal directly with patients. Though not specialized sonograph tech program, the Health Information Technology degree teaches students to use electronic health records, do medical transcriptions, and communicate with insurance companies.
AS in Healthcare Admin	Brookline College — Brookline College's online Associates in Health Administration is not an ultrasound program, but could make a good base for the field, gives students the tools they need to handle ethical, legal, and practical issues that arise in healthcare offices every day. Graduates are prepared for entry-level management positions in health care organizations, or to go on to earn their Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration which opens even more career opportunities.
AS in Healthcare Admin	Iowa Central College — Iowa Central College's AS in health administration program prepares students to transfer to major universities to complete their Bachelor's degrees in healthcare administration. However, after graduating with an AS degree, students are already prepared to enter the workforce in medical offices, hospitals, and nursing homes. While not an ultrasound technologist degree program, it is a related healthcare service program.
